Psych.PSYCHOTHERAPIST Swiss Cottage, London, and Watford, Hertfordshire 07707 610 854 THERAPY AND HOW IT CAN BE OF USE TO YOU We all go through times when we are feeling overwhelmed by life and are perhaps unable to continue with our daily routines, or feeling depressed or even in crisis, and are not sure why or do not know how to proceed. There could be any number of reasons why this might have happened but you may not know how to find out and start dealing with what is going on. In times like this, it is good to talk to someone who is trained in how to help you discover what is not working for you and who can help you to get things back on track. Psychotherapy is there for such occasions and can help you regain your competent self, or even unearth new resources to create the you that you may have suspected was waiting to emerge. In order to help us unlock our true selves and allow us to reach areas of our potential that were not previously available to us, we need to be able to let go and express our real feelings and thoughts in a safe and confidential environment which is welcoming and non-judgmental. I am a good listener and will give you my focussed attention each session. Additionally I will provide continuing support as you go through your journey of discovery and becoming more the person you want to be. ABOUT ME I am a qualified psychotherapist, registered with UKCP, and work in an integrative and transpersonal way with clients. What this means is that I work with clients using a wide range of psychotherapeutic theories including psychodynamic, humanistic, existential, Gestalt, body-centred, transpersonal and Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT, the ‘tapping’ therapy, can be used for certain phobias). I also use visualisation and guided meditations where appropriate. I am particularly interested in the integration of the body into our whole being; too often this aspect of ourselves is ignored and it is now believed that some trauma and other phenomena can be stored even at cell level in our bodies which can clearly affect our lives, emotionally as well as physically. Working with our physical as well as our emotional selves can be rewarding and joyous. I trained at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy (CCPE) in London and have been in private practice for 5 years and also see clients at a women’s centre outside London. In the private sector I have worked in retail and manufacturing and in the public sector, with the Metropolitan Police as a lecturer and trainer. I also give occasional workshops on handling weight issues. Psychotherapeutic sessions last 50 minutes and can be arranged to suit your schedule. Some of the issues I have helped clients work with include: Self-esteem Self-confidence Addiction Abuse Regaining the Self Prioritising what is really important Depression Relationships Bereavement Work-related If you would like to contact me to arrange a session, please call or text me on 07707 610 854. |
